Job Type: Part-time/Hourly (up to 20 hours per week; no current benefit package)
Schedule: Flexible; includes a mix of daytime, evening, and weekend hours based on training needs.
Position Overview
NESTA Instructors play a vital role in delivering simulation-based training programs, ensuring students receive a safe, engaging, and high-quality learning experience.
This position requires subject matter expertise in emergency services, strong instructional ability, and a commitment to teamwork. Instructors will operate training equipment, support program delivery, and collaborate with colleagues to maintain NESTA’s professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Delivery: Teach simulation-based training programs in alignment with NESTA curriculum and industry standards.
- Student Support: Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
- Equipment Operation: Safely set up, operate, and break down training equipment, including mobile units and trailers.
- Technology Use: Utilize training technology, simulation tools, and audio/visual equipment to enhance instruction.
- Standards & Safety: Ensure all training sessions meet safety, compliance, and quality expectations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Lead Instructor and colleagues to align with organizational goals and support a cohesive training team.
- Continuous Learning: Stay current with industry best practices and contribute to program improvement and evaluation.
- Professional Conduct: Promote a respectful, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
- Community Representation: Represent NESTA within the fire service community, including participation in promotional events, industry workshops, and outreach activities.

Qualifications
- Current certifications in emergency services instruction (e.g., Fire Service Instructor I, Firefighter I/II, EMS Instructor, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years instructional or training experience in emergency services.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to engage diverse learners.
- Familiarity with modern instructional practices and adult learning principles.
- Ability to operate training technology, A/V systems, and simulation equipment.
- Physical ability to maneuver training equipment and trailers as required.
- Clean driving record
